The Law Library provides combined electronic and print collection tailored to meet the reseach and scolarship needs of the Law School community. This page provides an overview of available resources, finding aids, and tools and techniques for using those resources effectively.
Law librarians are available to provide both reference assistance and in-depth research instruction to Law School students. Those working on rigorous writings and other research projects are encouraged to set up an individual appointment. Both in-person and Zoom appointments are available.
Access to certain legal databases, including Lexis, Westlaw, and Bloomberg Law, is limited by subscription agreement to authorized members of the Law School community. J.D. and LLM students will receive Westlaw and Lexis password information in LARW.
M.A. in Law and B.A. in Law access is limited, but alternative legal research databases are provided. Contact Professor Magee for more information and for password assistance.

ProQuest Congressional
Provides federal legislative history information, including access to a wide range of Congressional documents, published and unpublished hearings, CRS reports and committee reports. Includes access to the U.S. Congressional Serial Set, 1817-1980.
The Law Library uses LibGuides to create subject matter research guides on a wide variety of topics. The Law Library Libguide system undergoing maintenance. New Guides will be available soon.
Law School users conducting interdisciplinary or other non-legal research are encouraged to begin by exploring the resources provided by the University Library. Law librarians are happy to provide an overview and to assist Law School users in setting up appointments with the appropriate University Library librarian.
Note: RU Libraries are moving from EZ Proxy to Open Athens beginning Fall 2023.
Some databases will recognize on-campus users automatically. Others may require RU Login credentials.
Off-campus users must use RU Login credentials to be authenticated for access.
