The Law Library offers a variety of spaces to support both quiet study and collaborative learning.

General Information: The Law Library provides formal reading areas and relaxed seating, quiet and conversational areas, group and individual study rooms, study tables, individual carrels, and a law student lounge. Twelve study rooms, as well as the Tragos Room, and the Dana/Mooradkanian Conference Room (located in the administrative offices suite), are available to the Law School community and to RU faculty and doctoral students. Other researchers and scholars in need of a study room should contact the Assistant Director for Public Services or the Head of Access Services. Please note that access to Law Library spaces and services may be limited to members of the Law School community during exams.
The Law Library offers both group and individual study rooms. Six study rooms are equipped with wall-mounted LCD displays and HDMI connections to facilitate collaborative study. Group study rooms may be checked-out to one or more persons for 4 hours at a time. Study rooms can be checked out at the Law Library Access Services Desk. Find Study Rooms on the Map.
The Tragos Room: Provided through the generous gift of George E. and Demetria M. Tragos, this enhanced study room is available for reservation and checkout by groups of 5 to 10. Overlooking the Regent campus and affording a spectacular view of Robertson Hall, the Tragos Room is designed to facilitate collaborative study, and features a seventy-inch (70") LCD display and a large glass board.
The Tragos Room is located directly adjacent to the Law Library's Special Collections Room.
Dana/Mooradkanian Law Library Conference Room: The Law Library Conference Room is available for checkout by reservation ONLY. The Conference Room can seat up to 15 individuals. The room is fully equipped to support teaching, with a computer podium and projector, and a large glass board.

The Law Library offers a variety of spaces for both individual and collaborative study. Carrels are individual study desks designed to minimize distraction and provide privacy. The Law Library provides nearly 150 carrels that can be reserved for the academic year for a nominal fee ($20). Most are lighted and equipped with power/USB outlets. Reserved carrels are located on the Quiet Side. Returning 3Ls and 2Ls are given an opportunity to make a carrel reservation for the following academic year just before the end of the Spring semester. Incoming 1Ls and other new law school students receive information about carrel reservations during Orientation.
Carrel holders in good standing have a right of first refusal on their carrel for subsequent semesters. Returning carrel holders are also given an opportunity to select a new carrel location for the following academic year as available. Carrel holders who no longer need their carrel are strongly encouraged to release their reservation, making the carrel available for another student.
Items that circulate may be checked out to a carrel at the Law Library Public Service Desk. Library materials on carrels without a visible checkout slip will be reshelved.
Carrel holders must follow carrel usage policies and guidelines, including observing noise policy and keeping carrel surfaces reasonably clear. Violation of library policy may result in revocation of a carrel reservation.
With its sweeping view of Robertson Hall and the RU campus, the Law Reading Balcony is one of the most popular spaces in the Law Library.
Although any member of the RU community who visits the Law Library to engage in legal research may use the space, group study on the Reading Balcony is limited to law students and faculty.
Please note that noise levels on the Law Reading Balcony vary, particularly during Atrium events. The Balcony is considered a Collaborative/Conversational space.
The Law Library Computer Lab is located near the Law Public Services Desk. The Lab has 12 workstations. Although Law Library staff will offer assistance if possible, RU Computer Labs are managed by IT, and most issues will need to be referred to the Help Desk.
A printer is located in the back corner of Computer Law. Students may print materials for $0.05/page. Mobile printing is available. Please select the printer Lab_Lib327_LJ600. For FAQs and to buy additional printing credit, please visit the IT Department's website.
